ROLE OF CINEMATOGRAPHER

We all love watching movies and we also know Cinematographer role is important, but we don't know what does a Cinematographer (cameraman) actually does? so in this article we will see more about role of Cinematographer in film industry.

The main role of a Cinematographer is to communicate the script visually in the audience mind. Still there is more the best Cinematographer work close with the director to help him realize their creative vision, through composition, framing, lighting and camera movement.

The cameraman has to make some crucial decision about the look and feel of a movie and which camera is best to capture the Director's vision and should they shoot in color or black and white and are they going for a more realistic one or a expressionistic one. To answer all these questions Director meets Cameraman. If things turned out well Cinematographer and Director partnership will remain same in upcoming movies. For each scene, he has to decide the best combination of cameras, filters and lenses, as well as where the camera will be placed and what the lighting should be and when the scene will be shot. Once everything is shot, Cinematographer work is done he has to hand over all the footage to Editor and now editor role starts. In the next article will see about the editor's role in film industry. So, in this article we came to know that being a Cinematographer is not just shooting with a camera.
