ROLE OF EDITORS IN FILM INDUSTRY
In the filmmaking editing plays the major role. Editing the movie scenes can help a proper engagement with audiences. Good editing can turn a worst scene into a best scene with cutting the scenes and pasting them in the correct order wherever they want with effects. From my point of view editors are like a backbone in the film industry.
The filmmaking process is compared to the birth of the baby and the filmmaker is like a father of the film but the role of the editor is compared as a doctor who makes the baby born safely to the world.
Of course as we all think editors will rearrange all the shots in order, but not only that he will do lot of things more than that to make the film better to the audience. Every editors is different from one another. Editors role starts when the production begins. First he makes a rough assemble of shots. After the production get over the editor starts his assault with film. He plays with the shots to find the continuity and the connection between the sounds and the arrangement of the film this will create the dramatic way of filming. He is responsible to make a film more emotional. He makes the audience to forget the cut of the shots. Thus, he achieves his goal.
