CONCESSION STAND IN THEATRES
Have you ever noticed that there are no theatres without a snack bar? So yes, those snack bars are only knows as concession stand. A concession stand is nothing but a place where audience can buy snacks or food such as popcorn and some drinks at a cinema theatres or any other entertaining venues.
Mostly the right to sell snacks at concession stand is given as a contract to the third parties. Before the idea of concession stand was originated snacks were sold to the patrons by outside vendors. It was during the Great depression time when the concession stand in theatres were started. Concession stand became a main fixture in theatres by 1930s. It typically sells junk food. The most food items that is found in all concession stand are popcorn and soft drinks. Now a days it has become like the movie is not full in itself without popcorn and soft drinks. Movie without snacks has become like cup without a saucer. Earlier only popcorn, soft drinks, pastries, puffs and coffee were found in the snack bar. But now the choice of menu has reached a higher level. Food item such as Nachos, Vada pav, Dough nuts are found. Usually the rates are a little higher than outside. Combos of food items are kept so that it can attract public as the cost is lesser than usual.
