HOW FILM DISTRIBUTION WORK?

We all love to watch movies right? But how many of them know how the film distribution work? So in this article we get to know how the movies get from the motion picture studio to the theater.
If someone has an idea for a movie. First they create an outline and use it to promote an interest in the idea. Then anyone of the studio decides the purchase rights to the film. People with different ideas brought together to make the film (director, producer, cast, crew, screenwritter). After film is completed they send it to studio. The studio makes an licensing agreement with a distribution company. Then distribution company decides how many copies of the film to make and shows the movie to the buyers representing the theater. The buyers decides which movies they chose and negotiate the terms of the lease agreement with the distribution company. Later the prints are sent to the theater few days before the opening day. And the theater shows that how many weeks the movies are engaged. We buy a ticket and watch the movies happily. Atlast after the end of the engagement the theater send back the copies to the distribution company and makes payment on the lease agreement.
