IMPORTANCE OF LIGHTING IN CINEMA

Lighting is much more than just bright and darkness, it is a key factor to shoot the successful film. It allows the audience to have an understanding of how to feel. Good lighting is important for Cinematographer to take good video quality. Poor lighting leads to longer editing process it is more difficult for an editor. The more advanced the movie scenes the more advanced the lighting behind it. Correct lighting determine the mood of the scene. Human eyes respond to the lights than the cameras does. When shooting film with low budget it is very important to consider light other than natural setting, weather can constantly change so, it is important in film industry. Shooting in summer leads to over exposure, whereas in winter there might not be enough light. Bright light can create happiness and cheerful characters so, by setting the wrong light the film will have a different feel and may not represent the correct emotions with it.



A simple mistake like wrong lighting leads to unnecessary costs, longer production time and editors role leads to difficulties so, studying and understanding the effects of light is important in film industry while making movies.
