Usually after the movies are completed, the cast of the movies try to promote their movies through many ways. movies are promoted so that more and more public get to know about the movie and its release date. Better the promotion, higher is the box office collection. If the box office collection is higher then the movie is said to be box office hits. Film promotions generally includes press releases, advertising campaigns, merchandising, franchising, media and interviews with the key people involved with the making of the film, like cast and directors. Here are the following techniques for promoting a movie. First comes "In theatres". Trailers are the biggest platform for film promotion as they are delivered directly to movie goers. They screen in theatres before movie showings. Through trailers the gist of the movie story is shown in condensed form and approximately for time period of 2-3 minutes.

  Second comes "Television and radio". Cast and crew of the movie promote their movies through television by appearing in some reality shows and radio by appearing in FM studios and interacting with the RJs.

Third comes the "Social media". Actors, Directors and Producers promote movie through social media such Instagram, You tube, etc., In Instagram the cast and crew of the movie post some pictures and video clips from movie. In You tube videos of actors and crew appearing for interviews is been uploaded. Even trailers of the movie is uploaded in You tube.Thus promotion plays and important role in film industry.
